According to The New York Times, Chinese authorities launched a two-month campaign at the end of September against content that excessively highlights negativity and depressive moods. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Within the framework of this campaign, accounts promoting depression on social networks, emphasizing the futility of hard work or claiming that having children is economically unwise, were blocked. In particular, bloggers advocating a minimalist lifestyle and advising to give up career ambitions faced these restrictions.
Additionally, users who claimed that life in Western countries is better compared to China were also subjected to restrictions. Some of them had tens of millions of followers.
On the Weibo social network, more than 1,200 accounts were deleted for spreading false information about the country's economy and housing market. These measures are aimed at stabilizing social morale and reducing the flow of negative information in China.
