Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy emphasized that the Tomahawk cruise missiles that Ukraine may receive from the United States will be targeted only at military facilities. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In his statement, he said that Ukraine would never attack Russia's civilian population. Zelenskiy expressed these views in an interview with Fox News on October 12.
According to him, the missiles will be directed only at military targets and no harm will be allowed to come to civilians. On the same day, Zelenskiy spoke for the second time with U.S. President Donald Trump.
The Ukrainian leader described this dialogue as effective and announced that the two sides had reached an agreement on important issues. He wrote on social media that all aspects of the situation were considered and directions for the future were set.
According to Axios, the delivery of Tomahawk missiles was also discussed during the first conversation held on October 11. Zelenskiy said that Russia fears this possibility and considers this situation as evidence that pressure on the path to peace is effective.
Observers believe that the delivery of long-range missiles from the U.S. could increase military pressure against Russia. However, Zelenskiy stressed that Ukraine will use these weapons only for defensive purposes and in accordance with international law.
Thus, Kiev's main position is as follows: no attacks will be directed at civilians, and all actions will be aimed solely at Russia's military infrastructure.
