The government of Kazakhstan plans to introduce new restrictions on the sale of alcoholic beverages to promote a healthy lifestyle. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov, under the new draft law, alcoholic products will only be allowed to be sold in stores with a special license. Additionally, online sales are planned to be completely banned.
The ministry proposes to strengthen control by reducing the number of sales points and tightening licensing requirements. These measures are aimed at limiting the spread of alcohol in the domestic market and reducing its social harm.
Sadenov emphasized that the number of crimes committed under the influence of alcohol in entertainment venues has increased significantly. Last year, more than 1,400 offenses, including three murders, were recorded in such places.
The minister stressed that time restrictions on alcohol sales are important for public safety and protecting citizens' health. He also noted the serious problem of insufficient rehabilitation and health centers in the country.
Currently, 38 centers are operating with approximately 700 beds. In the near future, 14 new institutions are planned to be established.
Restrictions on alcohol sales in Kazakhstan have been gradually tightened in recent years. For example, since 2014, the sale of strong alcoholic beverages has been prohibited from 9:00 PM to 12:00 PM, and light alcoholic products from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
Once the new law is adopted, the circulation of alcoholic beverages will be subject to even stricter control, marking the beginning of a new era aimed at developing a culture of healthy living.
