The number of people choosing a healthy lifestyle is increasing in Northern Kazakhstan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Twenty-one villages in the country have completely given up alcoholic beverages. This movement began several years ago, and now the number of its supporters is sharply increasing.
For example, in the Baysal village of the Kyzyljar district, elders and youth together decided to boycott alcoholic drinks. The residents of Baysal are proud to live in a healthy environment without alcohol.
About 60 farms operate in the village, mainly focusing on livestock and poultry farming. Giving up alcohol aims not only for a healthy lifestyle but also to create a clean environment for the new generation.
According to police data, crime rates in Baysal and similar “sober villages” have decreased by 14 percent. This indicates the effectiveness of the initiative.
Currently, the number of such villages in Kazakhstan has reached 21, whereas previously there were only 13. Additionally, an official ban on alcoholic beverages has been introduced in 33 villages in Western Kazakhstan.
Experts believe that this movement is important not only for promoting a healthy lifestyle but also for changing societal consciousness. Such villages serve as a good example for the entire country.
