75 million-year-old dinosaur bones found in Karakalpakstan
An important scientific discovery has been made in the territory of Karakalpakstan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to the State Geological Museum, dinosaur bone remains belonging to a creature that lived 75 million years ago were found in the foothill areas near Nukus. This discovery was announced by the press service of the state museum.

On October 12, the museum director visited Nukus and personally inspected the search areas in the foothill part of the Sultan Uvays mountain range near Khojakol. During research conducted by the Karakalpak expedition staff of the Uzbek Geological Exploration Joint Stock Company, ancient dinosaur bones were identified.

Geological studies revealed that these bones belong to the Cretaceous period, dating back approximately 65-75 million years. The searchers found vertebrae, leg, and rib bones of a large creature at a depth of 3 meters.

Experts emphasize that this finding is of great significance for the paleontological history of Karakalpakstan. This discovery not only provides information about the ancient natural history of the region but also indicates that various large animals once inhabited it.

Geologists plan to conduct additional research at this site and perform detailed laboratory analyses of the findings. Moreover, important archaeological discoveries related to ancient history have been recorded in other regions of the country.

For example, in the Neolithic site of Koktonli in Northern Nurota, rock paintings drawn with yellowish-red natural mineral pigments were found, including human handprints and human figures. According to experts, these paintings are associated with the Koktonli Neolithic cultural layers and provide new information about the natural environment and worldview of ancient people.

The dinosaur bones found in Karakalpakstan prove the existence of previously unknown biological species in the territory of Uzbekistan. This opens new research directions for geologists and paleontologists.

In the coming months, the discovered bones will be thoroughly studied, and precise information about their species and the period they lived in is expected to be announced. Representatives of the scientific community regard these discoveries as a national scientific achievement, as such findings not only impact the geology of Uzbekistan but also allow for a reevaluation of the entire history of Central Asia.
