The drug business in Europe is developing in a new way. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Organized criminal groups are using previously unused methods to transport cocaine. They have learned to hide this narcotic substance inside fruit juices, spices, and even plastic products.
According to Holger Münch, head of the German Federal Criminal Police Office, the methods of drug smuggling have changed significantly. Now cocaine is not only transported through ordinary ports but also secretly brought in using mini-submarines, fast inflatable boats, and special capsules.
These new methods make it much more difficult to deliver drugs to Europe by sea. According to analyses, drug cartels have learned to add cocaine to spices and fruit juices coming from South America through special chemical processes.
As a result, it is almost impossible to detect these products during standard inspections at ports and airports. Later, these mixtures are processed in secret laboratories located in some industrial areas of Europe and distributed as pure cocaine.
Holger Münch emphasized that this trend seriously concerns not only Germany but the entire European security system. In recent years, the center of drug smuggling has shifted from Belgium and the Netherlands to Spain and France.
This indicates the emergence of new drug routes and networks in Europe. European law enforcement agencies plan to conduct joint raids and strengthen digital surveillance systems to limit the activities of drug cartels.
However, experts believe that since traffickers always find new methods, this struggle will be long and complex. Therefore, law enforcement agencies need to organize their work more effectively.
The fight against drug smuggling in Europe is a constantly evolving process.
