Starting from January 1, 2026, customs duty rates in Russia will change. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the Federal Customs Service, these changes are being introduced to fulfill the country's obligations to the World Trade Organization and to take into account the recent inflation rate. The goal is to make customs duties fairer and to fully cover the costs of customs operations.
Additionally, the duties applied to goods imported for export and personal needs will be maintained at the current level. Furthermore, the new rates will not affect goods brought into the country by ships and airplanes.
Participants in foreign economic activities will have sufficient time to adjust their operations to the new rules, as the new regulations will come into effect on January 1, 2026. At the same time, it was noted that from January to September 2025, 15.7 percent of Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover accounted for Russia.
This highlights the importance of trade relations between the two countries. Special attention is being paid to ensure that the new customs rates do not negatively affect these relations.
