Suspects involved in the robbery at the Louvre Museum in France have been arrested. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Reuters agency, one of them was caught while trying to fly to Algeria at Charles de Gaulle airport. Two men from the Seine-Saint-Denis district near Paris were detained on the evening of October 26.
So far, the stolen jewelry has not been found. Paris prosecutor Laura Beko condemned the disclosure of information about the arrests to the public and emphasized that this complicates the investigation.
About a hundred investigators are involved in the investigation process. Interior Minister Laurent Nunes praised the police work but refused to disclose details of the investigation.
The robbery occurred on October 19. Four masked individuals stole eight pieces of jewelry from the 19th century, valued at a total of 102 million dollars.
The stolen items included the gold crown and earrings of Queen Marie-Amélie and Empress Eugénie. Currently, investigations are ongoing to recover these items and fully identify the criminals.
