
On October 27, at 22:48 local time, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck the Sındırgı region of Turkey. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Emergency Situations Directorate announced this. The earthquake's epicenter was approximately 6 kilometers deep, and tremors were felt in neighboring provinces as well.
According to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya's statement on social media, three buildings and one shop collapsed as a result of the earthquake. People inside the buildings were successfully evacuated.
According to Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu, 19 people were injured, most of whom sustained injuries due to panic or jumping from windows. Four of the injured have been discharged from the hospital, and the condition of the others is reported as stable.
Rescue operations are ongoing at the scene, and necessary assistance is being provided. Officials are urging the public to remain alert.
Safety measures against earthquakes are being strengthened in Turkey.
