South Korea is awarding US President Donald Trump with the country's highest honor, the "Mugunghwa Order." This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to official Seoul information, Trump will also receive a replica of a golden crown from the historic Shilla period as a gift. This order is named after South Korea's national flower – the pink hibiscus.
During his Asia tour, Trump held official meetings in Malaysia and Japan, and finally arrived in Seoul. South Korean President Lee Jae-myung expects negotiations with Trump to reduce US tariffs on Korean products.
Lee called Trump a "peaceful leader" for his contribution to the peace process on the Korean Peninsula and for this reason, he is being awarded the "Mugunghwa Order." Trump has expressed readiness to meet again with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, but Pyongyang has not yet responded.
Trump and Lee plan to visit a museum in Gyeongju, famous for its historical monuments from the ancient Shilla kingdom. The golden crown presented to Trump is regarded as a symbol of a long-lasting peaceful era in Korean history.
Official Seoul considers this gift a symbol representing a new phase of peace and cooperation between the two countries.
