Incident of Harassment Against the President in Mexico
An unpleasant incident involving the country's first female president, Claudia Sheinbaum, occurred in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

On November 4, while the president was on her way to an event held in the historic center, a citizen approached her without consent, attempting to hug and kiss her. This incident sparked widespread discussions on social media.

Videos show that among the people who stopped to take selfies, one person came from behind, placed his hand on Sheinbaum's shoulder, and tried to touch her. The president pushed his hand away and tried to get out of the situation.

At that moment, the president's bodyguard stopped the troublemaker and removed him. Following the incident, Claudia Sheinbaum held a press conference and officially announced that she had filed a complaint regarding the matter.

She described it not only as an act against personal privacy but also as a sign of disrespect towards all women in the country. According to the president, this incident should not go unanswered because ensuring the safety and respect of women is an important responsibility of society.

Additionally, Sheinbaum criticized the local media's approach to covering the event and called for caution when reporting cases of violence. The Secretariat for Women's Affairs also regarded this incident as another manifestation of disrespect towards women.

The Mexico City Civil Security Department announced that the culprit, a 33-year-old man named Uriel Rivera, was arrested in connection with the incident. It was revealed that on the day of the event, he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs and is suspected of harassing two other women in the city.

Claudia Sheinbaum assumed the presidency of Mexico in October 2024 and is recognized as the country's first female president. This incident has brought the issue of violence against women back into the national spotlight.

According to government statistics, 821 women were victims of hate crimes in Mexico in 2024. Feminist activists emphasize that these figures do not fully reflect the actual situation.

According to President Sheinbaum, this incident not only raised questions about her security system but should also mark a new stage in the struggle for respect and personal integrity for women in the country.
