Diana Edwards, a former resident of Camden, Maine, USA, returned to her hometown to return a book she borrowed from the library 46 years ago. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Midcoast Villager publication reports on this. According to Diana Edwards, she found this book by chance.
While preparing to move, she discovered a book intended for children titled "Bunches and Bunches of Bunnies." This book was written by Louise Matthews and illustrated by Janie Bassett, and it was once read to her children.
According to the records, the book was supposed to be returned on August 10, 1979. Diana Edwards mentioned that she lived on Pearl Street with her children at that time and that the book had been with her ever since.
Edwards had to pay only a $5 fine for this incident because she borrowed the book during the period when the library's old fine policy was still in effect. Nevertheless, she also gave a monetary reward to the library staff as a token of appreciation for their understanding.
According to Amy Hend, the director of the library's youth services, the book is in good condition and still suitable for use by readers. This event will remain an interesting occurrence in the history of the library.
