Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is expected to hold a meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington and announce his country's intention to join the Abraham Accords. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to sources within the US administration, Axios reported this. The statement is planned to be announced during a summit involving leaders of Central Asian countries.
Additionally, Kazakhstan has signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation with the US on strategically important mineral resources. Analysts believe this move will further reinforce strategic partnership with Washington.
Furthermore, Tokayev and Trump are expected to officially confirm Kazakhstan's accession to the Abraham Accords during a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. US officials regard this step as an important move towards improving relations between Israel and Muslim countries.
They believe the Abraham Accords remain an attractive initiative aimed at promoting peace and regional cooperation. According to information, the Abraham Accords were signed in 2020 with US mediation, initially involving the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco, which established diplomatic relations with Israel.
The Trump administration directed this initiative towards developing economic and technological cooperation between Israel and Middle Eastern countries. It is said that Saudi Arabia may also join these accords in the future.
This issue is planned to be discussed during Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's visit to the US on November 18. However, negotiations remain complex.
