New details have emerged regarding the political activity of Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to The Moscow Times, Lavrov may have lost the trust of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This situation is reportedly connected, in particular, to the cancellation of a planned meeting between Putin and former US President Donald Trump in Hungary.
According to information provided by Kremlin officials, Lavrov will not lead the Russian delegation at this year's G20 summit. Instead, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Maksim Oreshkin will head the delegation.
Additionally, Lavrov did not attend the Russian Security Council meeting held on November 5. This meeting discussed preparations for nuclear tests.
Sources report that Lavrov's current political status may be related to a phone conversation on October 21 with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Following this dialogue, the White House canceled the meeting between Trump and Putin in Budapest.
It was noted that Rubio concluded Russia was not ready for dialogue. Furthermore, new sanctions imposed by the US on the companies "Rosneft" and "Lukoil" are also said to have negatively affected Lavrov's political standing.
These developments have reportedly further complicated attitudes towards Lavrov's activities.
