The European Union (EU) has changed the rules for obtaining Schengen visas for Russian citizens. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
From now on, Russian citizens will not be issued multiple-entry visas. They will be required to obtain a separate single-entry visa for each trip.
This decision was made by the European Union to cancel the previously valid visa agreement with Russia and to strengthen security measures. Experts believe that this change will significantly complicate travel to Europe for Russian citizens.
Because now it will be necessary to collect and submit documents and pay consular fees for each trip separately. Previously, Russian citizens had the opportunity to obtain multiple-entry Schengen visas valid from one to five years.
According to the new regulations, they must apply separately for entry to EU countries each time. EU representatives emphasize that this measure was introduced to ensure security and considering the current political relations with Russia.
This decision considerably restricts travel to the Schengen area for Russian citizens.
