The Philippines has been hit by the powerful typhoon “Fung-Wong,” creating a serious and dangerous situation in the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to official information, nearly one million citizens were relocated to safe areas due to this natural disaster. As a result of the typhoon’s impact, heavy rain and strong winds began in various parts of Luzon Island.
Water levels have risen, and power outages are being observed. The government quickly activated evacuation centers.
Additionally, due to worsening weather conditions, over 400 flights across the country were canceled. Many schools and workplaces were temporarily closed.
Wind speeds have been recorded reaching up to 230 kilometers per hour. Meteorologists report that the “Fung-Wong” typhoon is expected to reach Aurora province in the eastern part of Luzon tonight.
The government declared a state of emergency and issued a level five danger warning for the central and southeastern regions. Rescue teams continue to evacuate people to safe areas and monitor locations with a high risk of flooding.
Moreover, the Philippines is still dealing with the aftermath of the recent “Kalmaegi” typhoon. That storm claimed 224 lives and destroyed thousands of homes.
Experts have indicated that “Fung-Wong” could be even stronger, urging the population to take precautionary measures. Power outages, road closures, and flooding are expected in some areas.
The Philippines is one of the countries in Asia most frequently affected by typhoons. Dozens of storms occur here every year.
However, the strength and path of “Fung-Wong” are once again putting the country to the test. It has been noted that the government and international organizations have accelerated the delivery of food, drinking water, and medical supplies to the population.
The people are striving to overcome these challenges with solidarity.
