
The crash of a Turkish Air Force C-130 military aircraft in Georgia has caused a significant resonance in the region. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the country's Interior Minister Gela Geladze, the bodies of 18 military personnel have been found at the crash site, and search operations are ongoing for two more. “There were a total of 20 people on board the aircraft.
Currently, the bodies of 18 have been found, and we are searching for the remaining two. We are working closely with our Turkish colleagues,” Geladze said in his statement.
The crash reportedly occurred in the Sighnaghi municipality area, approximately 5 kilometers from the Georgia-Turkey border. According to information, the military personnel on board were part of an official Turkish delegation.
Georgian law enforcement agencies have opened a criminal case under the article “causing death due to violation of air transport safety rules” regarding this incident. The exact causes of the crash are currently unknown, but some sources mention the possibility of poor weather conditions and technical malfunction.
A joint commission consisting of Georgian and Turkish officials has begun investigating the incident. This event is noted as one of the largest military aviation accidents in the region in recent years.
