On the night of November 14, the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, experienced another difficult and alarming night. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The attack carried out by Russian forces using drones and ballistic missiles caused serious damage to various parts of the city. As a result of explosions, fires, and destruction, at least 14 civilians were injured, including a pregnant woman.
This was reported by Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv city military administration. Residential buildings and other facilities in the Podil, Dnipro, Desnianskyi, Solomianskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Obolonskyi districts of the city suffered significant damage.
In the Holosiivskyi district, missile fragments caused a fire at a medical facility. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, an administrative building was almost completely burned down.
According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the attack damaged the city's heating networks and communications, and some residential buildings in the Desnianskyi district were temporarily left without heating supply. The attacks were not limited to the capital alone.
According to Nikolai Kalashnik, head of the Kyiv regional military administration, six more people were injured in the region, including a child. In some villages and towns, shockwaves from explosions shattered windows of buildings and damaged infrastructure.
Additionally, warnings about the threat of unmanned aerial vehicles were issued in the Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions. Air raid sirens sounded regularly in these areas, forcing residents to take shelter in bomb shelters.
In recent months, Russian attacks using drones and missiles have intensified. Experts emphasize that such attacks are carried out to put pressure on Ukraine's energy systems and infrastructure.
As the cold winter season approaches, such strikes on heating and electricity systems could cause even more serious problems for the population. Restoration work has begun in Kyiv following the attacks.
Rescuers are clearing burned buildings, and medical assistance is being provided to injured civilians in hospitals.
