Nearly four thousand trucks have gathered at the checkpoints on Russia's borders with China, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These vehicles mainly belong to drivers bringing imported cars into the country. According to experts, this route is the main channel for carrying out parallel imports into Russia.
Dealers believe that the long queues of vehicles may last at least until the end of November. The situation at the border has become more complicated, and even a "paid queue" system has appeared.
Some individuals have organized the sale of queue positions through special bots. The main reason for the congestion is the expected increase in the recycling fee starting December 1.
According to the new regulation, the fee amount will be determined based on the engine volume and power of the vehicle. Only cars with up to 160 horsepower will have a relatively low fee.
For this reason, dealers are rushing to bring cars into the country in advance.
