According to the ABC television channel, concerns increased after traces of asbestos were found in magic sand products sold at Kmart and Target stores. Officials emphasized that these toys were used more extensively in schools than expected.
Currently, extensive inspections are being carried out in the closed schools. School staff and volunteers are examining classrooms, corridors, and storage areas, searching for colored sand residues.
All collected samples are being recorded on a special map. The inspection process is expected to continue for several days.
