
According to the 2025 "Global Terrorism Index" published by the Australian Institute of Economics and Peace, Uzbekistan ranked among the safest countries in the world. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In this ranking, our country was placed 90th in terms of terrorism risk. This indicator shows that Uzbekistan has surpassed a number of developed countries in terms of safety level.
According to the report, Uzbekistan was assessed as safer compared to countries such as the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, as well as Russia, China, Tajikistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey. Among Central Asian countries, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan were ranked around 100th place.
However, the report emphasized that the global terrorism threat is worsening. The number of countries experiencing terrorist attacks increased from 58 to 66.
The number of attacks in Western countries rose by 63 percent. Notably, Sweden, Australia, Finland, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Switzerland experienced terrorist attacks for the first time in the last five years.
The most difficult situation in Europe was observed in Germany. Following the attack at the Magdeburg fair, the country dropped to 27th place and was classified among high-risk areas.
The most dangerous countries on the list were Burkina Faso, Pakistan, Syria, and Israel. In these countries, the terrorism threat was assessed at the highest level.
