US and Ukrainian officials held talks in Geneva on the night of November 24 to end the war in Ukraine. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As a result of this meeting, it was announced that an updated peace plan had been prepared. The joint statement emphasized the necessity of fully respecting Ukraine's sovereignty and ensuring a stable and just peace.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed optimism that the new peace plan could be implemented. One of the most important changes is that, according to the new plan, Ukraine will not be required to cede its territories to Russia.
Additionally, the official recognition of the territories occupied by Russia is not envisaged. These changes are said to serve Ukraine's interests.
Previously, the peace plan presented by the US included strict conditions. Among them, Ukraine was required to withdraw its troops from Donbass, reduce its army, and abandon plans to join NATO.
According to Marco Rubio, issues such as the role of the European Union and NATO need to be resolved to finalize the document. In the final stage, the document is expected to be approved at the level of US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Furthermore, it was reported that Trump expects gratitude from Kyiv. Zelensky reiterated his gratitude to the US and Trump.
