Due to serious technical malfunctions at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Russia may be forced to temporarily suspend manned space flights. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to expert Georgiy Trishkin, after the launch of the "Soyuz MS-28" spacecraft on November 27, the service cabin located at pad 31 toppled over for unknown reasons. This pad is considered the only launch site enabling Russia to send cosmonauts to the International Space Station.
Trishkin emphasized that due to this incident, the flights of "Soyuz" and "Progress" spacecraft to the International Space Station may be delayed indefinitely. According to experts' calculations, it may take at least two years to fully restore the damaged infrastructure.
Nevertheless, representatives of "Roskosmos" have announced plans to resolve the technical issues at the pad as soon as possible. The malfunctions at the cosmodrome may seriously impact Russia's space programs.
