
Uzbekistan expressed condolences over the damages caused by severe floods in Indonesia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was emphasized, "We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wish a speedy recovery to those injured." As of December 2, it was noted that there are no Uzbek citizens among the deceased or injured.
The situation is being regularly monitored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions abroad. If necessary, Uzbek citizens can contact the relevant missions for assistance.
It has been reported that heavy monsoon rains caused floods and landslides in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. More than 1,200 people have died as a result of the natural disaster, and another 800 are missing.
In Indonesia, roads and bridges have been severely damaged. Rescuers are using helicopters and boats to evacuate people, but adverse weather conditions are complicating rescue efforts.
Hundreds of people remain isolated in Sri Lanka, while recovery efforts continue in Thailand. Uzbekistan has expressed its condolences to these countries and stated its readiness to assist them in overcoming the consequences of the natural disaster in the region.
