The US government has decided to stop processing immigration applications from citizens of 19 countries. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These restrictions apply to citizens of countries such as Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Cuba, and Venezuela. This decision, made by US President Donald Trump in June 2023, mainly covers applications aiming to immigrate through Green Card and citizenship programs.
On December 2, some immigrants announced the cancellation of Green Card interviews. These restrictions were intensified following a shooting incident near the White House in Washington.
As a result of this incident, a National Guard serviceman was killed, and another was seriously injured. According to police information, the suspect was an Afghan citizen.
These restrictions imposed by the US government have sparked various international debates. This decision, in particular, may complicate immigration processes and make it more difficult for citizens of certain countries to enter the United States.
