On December 4, 2025, in the state of California, doctor Salvador Placencia was sentenced to 30 months in prison in connection with the death of actor Matthew Perry. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to BBC, the doctor illegally supplied the famous "Friends" series star with ketamine.
During the trial, Placencia expressed regret for his actions and apologized. He emphasized that his behavior was driven by financial difficulties at his clinic and the temptation of a large sum of money.
"There is no justification for what I have done. I know I cannot undo what has happened.
As his mother said, I should have protected him. I am deeply sorry," Placencia said in the courtroom.
The doctor pleaded guilty to four charges. Sentences for four other suspects involved in the case, including Perry's personal assistant and a person nicknamed the "ketamine queen," are expected to be issued in the coming months.
