According to a new report presented by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the demand for passenger and cargo transportation globally continues to rise in October of this year. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The report states that this figure has increased by 8.5 percent compared to last year. Especially, a rapid growth in passenger flow has been recorded in the Asia region.
Significant increases in transportation have been noted on routes to China, Japan, and Vietnam, with annual growth exceeding 10 percent. IATA explains the main reasons for this growth as economic development in Asia and favorable conditions created for air travel.
In the Middle East region, air traffic indicators have slightly decreased due to geopolitical situations and some disruptions in 2024. Nevertheless, a 4.1 percent growth in cargo transportation has been recorded.
The growth of world trade and global industrial production positively impacts the development of the air transport industry. The market has shown stable growth for eight consecutive months.
Airlines in the Asia-Pacific region reported an 8.3 percent year-on-year increase in cargo demand in October. Cargo capacity also increased by 7.3 percent.
Europe-Asia routes recorded the highest growth rates. The increase in international passenger and cargo transportation volumes is significant not only for world trade but also for overall economic development.
