According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Moscow will continue to provide India with stable and uninterrupted fuel supplies to support the country's rapidly growing economy. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He made this statement following a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to Putin, cooperation in the energy sector is steadily strengthening, and Russia is solidifying its position as a reliable supplier for India.
It was noted that trade in oil and oil products is proceeding consistently, and the processing of Russian oil at Indian enterprises is being carried out according to plan. At the same time, in August, US President Donald Trump imposed an additional 25% tariff on India's purchases of Russian oil.
The US administration indicated that such measures could also be applied to Russia's other partners. Commenting on this situation, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized his firm stance on protecting the country's economic interests.
He stated that even if such decisions lead to significant costs, India will not retreat from its policy. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also noted that the tariffs imposed by the US have not affected India's position, and India does not intend to change its plans to import Russian fuel.
This confirms the continuation of cooperation in the energy sector between the two countries.
