Investigations into Labubu toys, popular in Russia, have revealed alarming results. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Experts from the “Roskachestvo” organization tested the quality and safety of the toys, and found that one out of 13 samples contained a hazardous substance — di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) — at levels exceeding the permitted limit. During the inspection, the product was evaluated based on 53 criteria.
These included fabric and stitching quality, accuracy of information on the label, toxicological and hygienic safety indicators, as well as overall toxicity levels. It was noted that the amount of di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate in the toy exceeded the established limit of 2 mg/liter, reaching 2.9 mg/liter.
According to specialists, a high concentration of di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate can lead to several negative consequences. This substance can disrupt hormone balance, harm the health of children and pregnant women, worsen reproductive health, intensify behavioral and neurological problems, and negatively affect liver and kidney functions over the long term.
Additionally, this substance may cause skin itching and allergic reactions. Currently, the relevant authorities are conducting further investigations regarding Labubu toys.
Parents are advised to exercise caution when purchasing this product.
