Russia has assessed the new National Security Strategy announced by the US under the Donald Trump administration as consistent with its views. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The document does not list Russia as a threat, but notes that Europe is under a “civilizational threat.” The strategy identifies combating foreign influence, controlling migration, and protecting freedom of speech within the European Union as key tasks.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov gave a positive assessment of the document but stated that a final conclusion will be made only after a full analysis. It is noteworthy that the strategy is written in relatively soft language regarding Russia, which is causing concern among European officials.
The document also emphasizes the necessity for the US to continue efforts to restore stability with Europe and to end the war. The strategy raises issues of “restoring national spirit” in Europe and supporting political parties.
It states that Europe may become unrecognizable in the future, and economic problems are of secondary importance compared to the civilizational threat. The US has called on European countries to assist in spiritual renewal.
The document highlights the “America First” policy. It addresses combating drug trafficking in the Caribbean and the Eastern Pacific, as well as considering possible military actions in Venezuela.
The need to increase defense spending in Japan, South Korea, Australia, and Taiwan is also outlined. At the same time, Democrats in the US have emphasized that this strategy could negatively impact international relations.
