According to the report published by "Euromonitor International," Paris was recognized as the world's best tourist city for 2025. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The city welcomed over 18 million international tourists, securing first place due to its developed infrastructure, rich culture, and sustainable development initiatives. The reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Paris football team PSG's victory in the Champions League further increased the flow of tourists.
The top five lineup remained unchanged in the report: Madrid took second place, Tokyo third, Rome fourth, and Milan fifth. Madrid stood out for its achievements in sustainability and infrastructure development, while Tokyo maintained its position thanks to major events and service modernization.
Rome and Milan were notable for their number of hotels, infrastructure, and capabilities as business centers. New York was the only American city in the top ten, ranking sixth.
Amsterdam, Barcelona, Singapore, and Seoul also made the list. London dropped from 13th to 18th place.
This decline is related to decreases in safety, sustainability, and hospitality indicators. In terms of tourist flow, Bangkok remains the leader.
Although the number of visits decreased by 7%, the city has not lost its position due to its infrastructure and digital services. Hong Kong and London hold second and third places respectively.
Macau, Istanbul, Dubai, Mecca, Antalya, Paris, and Kuala Lumpur entered the top ten. Technological innovations also play an important role in the tourism sector.
For example, Dubai leads in digital services and marketing, while Orlando surpassed New York thanks to domestic tourism and new parks. Digital entry cards have been introduced in Bangkok, and smart city technologies are widely used in New York.
According to experts, today cities are striving to attract more responsible and high-spending tourists based on quality rather than quantity. At the same time, cities like Paris, Rome, and Tokyo are paying great attention to expanding the hotel segment and modernizing airports.
Batumi in Georgia has maintained the title of "Europe's Destination of the Year" in recent years. Nadezhda Popova, a representative of "Euromonitor International," emphasized that cities are entering a new phase by combining investment, innovation, and digital technologies.
