An emergency incident occurred at one of the world's most famous museums in Paris — the Louvre. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Approximately 400 rare books were damaged due to a burst water pipe in the museum's section dedicated to Egyptian civilization. These books date back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries and were of significant importance for scientific research.
Scientists, students, and museum staff regularly used these books. According to local media reports, museum employees were aware of an issue with the water pipe in advance.
However, repair work was only scheduled for September 2026. Unexpectedly, the pipe burst, causing considerable damage to the museum's valuable collection.
This incident has once again highlighted the condition of the rare artifacts stored at the Louvre Museum and the attention given to them. Specialists are currently working on restoring the damaged books.
