Russian President Vladimir Putin focused on addressing the demographic problems in the country at the meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the President, the decline in birth rates continues and the current measures are not sufficiently effective. He noted the need for new approaches to overcome the demographic crisis.
According to Putin, the decline in birth rates is associated with a number of objective factors. These include global demographic changes, demographic gaps caused by wars and social crises in the mid and late 20th century, as well as geopolitical problems.
At the same time, an increase in readiness for childbearing has been observed in some regions. These regions include the republics of Mordovia, Altai, Kabardino-Balkaria, as well as the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
The President outlined three main directions to address demographic problems. First, measures to encourage large families will be strengthened and support for each newborn child will be increased.
Second, improving the welfare of families, that is, increasing their incomes, was set as a priority task. Third, support measures will be strengthened not only for motherhood but also for fatherhood.
Special measures will be taken to ensure active participation of men in family concerns and child-rearing. Additionally, the President announced incentive financial assistance and tax benefits as part of the measures.
These initiatives aim to improve the demographic situation in the country and increase the population.
