Before the 2026 Hajj season, it has been clarified that reports about a ban on filming and video recording in Masjid al-Haram in Mecca and Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina are unfounded. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
On December 8, The Islamic Information publication reported on this matter. According to this publication, no statements have been made by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah or other official bodies regarding the introduction of new restrictions on filming in the holy sites.
The current rules remain unchanged. Rumors circulating on social media about a "complete ban" are based on unverified sources and have been spread by some media outlets with inaccurate information.
These reports claimed that even filming with mobile phones during Hajj would be prohibited. However, these claims have not been officially confirmed.
The Saudi Arabian government emphasizes that such false news frequently spreads on the internet before pilgrimages. Officials urge pilgrims to be cautious and remind them to observe respect rules in the mosques.
These include not disturbing prayers, respecting the personal space of other pilgrims, and adhering to regulations. The 2026 Hajj pilgrimage is expected to take place from May 27 to June 4-5.
For pilgrims from Uzbekistan, obtaining a medical certificate through the Nusuk digital platform is required. Compliance with pilgrimage rules is recommended for everyone.
