A dog named Choko, who went missing nearly five years ago in the USA, was found three thousand kilometers away from home. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The adventure of this little dog became one of the most astonishing stories in finding lost pets. Choko went missing in May 2021 in Antelope, California.
Years later, he finally returned home. This was reported by People magazine.
The dog's owner, Patricia, said she always hoped Choko would be found. "I believed he was alive and knew he had a microchip.
I was just waiting for the call," she said. Indeed, after about 4 years and 7 months, the awaited call came.
Choko was found in Lincoln Park near Detroit, 3.7 thousand kilometers away from home. The dog was tied to a wall near a shelter.
The staff identified his owner through the microchip and contacted her immediately. Patricia was initially surprised to hear Choko was in Michigan.
"At first, I thought it must be a mistake because there is also a city named Lincoln in California," she said. Although returning the dog home was complicated, the nonprofit organization "Helping Paws and Claws" came to the rescue.
They saw Patricia's post on social media and organized a special operation to bring Choko home. A volunteer donated airline miles to cover the flight expenses.
Volunteers in Michigan took Choko from the shelter to the airport and sent him off to California. Despite flight delays, the journey was completed within one day.
On December 3, Choko finally arrived home. Patricia said the dog recognized her immediately and was happy.
During this time, the owner had two children born, and now Choko is getting to know his new "brothers and sisters."
