An Uzbek woman detained in Pakistan claims she is innocent. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
It is known that she is currently being held in custody. Representatives of the Uzbek embassy in Pakistan, in cooperation with the Mirzo Ulugbek district administration of Tashkent city, are taking appropriate measures regarding this situation.
According to information, the woman came to Pakistan in December 2024 with her husband for entrepreneurial activities. However, in January 2024, they were suspected of drug trafficking and detained.
After that, the woman was placed in the Central Women's Prison in Karachi, Pakistan. According to her, she and her husband were lured to Pakistan with false promises, and she considers herself completely innocent in this matter.
She has appealed to the embassy for legal and diplomatic assistance and has received some support in this regard. Embassy representatives have hired a new lawyer to protect her rights and have begun continuing the case.
The woman's husband also emphasized that he considers himself innocent and expressed his readiness to provide moral support to her. Additionally, an appeal has been made to the Pakistani government regarding this situation.
As a result, the woman's conditions, access to medical care, and rights to communicate with her lawyer have improved. The prison administration has also paid attention to ensuring fair treatment towards her.
