
Sardor Rustamboyev has begun his tenure as Uzbekistan's first ambassador to Nepal. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He presented his credentials to Nepalese President Ramchandra Paudel. This was reported by the “Dunyo” news agency.
The ambassador will carry out his duties from New Delhi, the capital of India. Sardor Rustamboyev has been working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2000 and holds an academic degree in political sciences.
From 2018 to 2023, he headed Uzbekistan's embassy in France. Starting from January 2024, he will also serve as ambassador to India.
Additionally, he will act as a representative to the Maldives and Bangladesh. Nepalese President Ramchandra Paudel expressed interest in further strengthening relations with Uzbekistan.
During the negotiations, issues related to expanding bilateral economic and trade relations were discussed. The Nepalese side emphasized that they see great opportunities for cooperation in tourism, education, and hydroenergy sectors.
The Nepalese president confirmed his aspiration to develop long-term and friendly relations with Uzbekistan. This cooperation is expected to bring the ties between the two countries to a new level.
