The US Armed Forces Southern Command has announced that attacks were carried out on three ships suspected of transporting narcotics in the eastern Pacific Ocean. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As a result of these attacks, eight people were killed. According to official reports, the incidents occurred in international waters.
According to the information, three people died on the first ship, two on the second ship, and another three on the third ship. This operation was conducted under the executive order signed by former US President Donald Trump aimed at intensifying the fight against narcotics cartels in Latin America.
Earlier, under this strategy, the US sent a naval group with a submarine and warships to the coasts of Venezuela in August. At that time, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that the country's military was even prepared to carry out scenarios involving regime change in Venezuela.
However, such actions against drug trafficking in the Caribbean basin and the Pacific Ocean are causing heated debates on the international stage. In particular, attacks on ships and killing of individuals on board are being regarded as "extrajudicial executions" and are drawing widespread criticism.
