According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Hungary, the number of appeals from Uzbek labor migrants working in Serbia and Croatia is increasing. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The main problems include delayed or untimely payment of wages and difficulties in obtaining work permits. These situations are often associated with employment through illegal intermediaries.
In these countries, some migrants face issues such as being asked for additional fees for services already paid for, threats of deportation if refused, or unexpected dismissal from work. Therefore, the embassy strongly recommends citizens to apply for work abroad only through licensed employment agencies.
It also reminds that one should not work on tourist or guest visas. Violations may result in a ban of up to five years for entering the Schengen area and deportation.
The embassy advises citizens to carefully review labor contracts before signing them. In case of problems, it is necessary to immediately contact the consular section.
The diplomatic mission emphasized that the rights and interests of Uzbek citizens abroad can only be protected through legal employment activities.
