
New information has been released regarding the shooting that occurred on the campus of Brown University in the United States. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As a result of this incident, two students, including Uzbek citizen Muhammadaziz Umurzoqov, lost their lives. According to The Guardian, the main suspect in this case, 48-year-old Portuguese citizen Claudio Manuel Neves Valente, was examined through forensic autopsy.
The investigation revealed that he committed suicide approximately two days before being found on December 18. According to officials, the shooting took place on December 13 in the university's engineering building.
The incident resulted in the deaths of two students, and nine others sustained injuries of varying degrees. Additionally, during the investigation, a possible connection between Neves Valente and MIT professor Nuno Lureyru, who was shot and killed at his home on December 16, is also being examined.
Investigators have stated that Neves Valente previously studied as a doctoral student at Brown University. So far, the exact cause and motives of the incident have not been officially disclosed.
The investigation is ongoing, and officials emphasize that all details are being thoroughly examined.
