
On December 14, an armed attack occurred on Bondi beach during the Hanukkah celebration. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to police information, before the attack, explosive devices made from pipes and tennis balls prepared at home were thrown among the people, but they did not explode. As a result of this incident, 15 people were killed, and several dozen others were injured.
One of the suspects involved in planning the attack, Sajid Akram, was shot dead by the police, while his son Naveed Akram is charged with 59 crimes. According to police information, they planned the attack for several months, monitored the area, and practiced with weapons.
Following this incident, the New South Wales parliament is discussing new laws aimed at restricting citizens' access to firearms, taking measures against signs of terrorist activities, and controlling demonstrations. According to the new law, the number of firearms a person can possess will be limited to four, while for some groups this number may reach up to 10.
Currently, 13 victims are being treated in the hospital, four of whom are in serious but stable condition.
