
The bodies of three tourists who went missing in the mountainous area near Almaty city, Kazakhstan, have been found. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The official statement was made by the country's Ministry of Emergency Situations. It became known that on the night of December 26, a woman contacted the 112 emergency service.
The woman reported that her brother and two friends had set out for the mountains on the morning of December 24 but had not returned since. Their mobile phones had been switched off for more than 12 hours.
Immediately after receiving the report, search and rescue operations began. Rescuers, police, specialists from the Disaster Medicine Center, canine units, and volunteers participated in the operation.
Additionally, the area was monitored from the air using drones and a helicopter. As a result of the search, the bodies were found near the “Lokomotiv” peak at an altitude of 3,700 meters above sea level.
The deceased were brought down with the help of a helicopter and handed over to law enforcement agencies. A forensic medical examination is currently underway.
Following this incident, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan urged citizens to strictly observe safety rules when going to mountainous areas. Experts recommend checking weather conditions in advance, considering the risk of avalanches, avoiding traveling alone, and informing relatives of travel plans beforehand.
