The Thai army has accused Cambodia of violating the recently signed peace agreement. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The agreement was reached after several weeks of conflicts and clashes that caused thousands of people to leave their homes. According to the army's information, more than 250 drones were observed flying from Cambodian territory on Sunday night.
The peace agreement came into effect on Saturday, with the parties agreeing to maintain the current front lines, stop sending additional forces, and allow civilians in the border area to return to their homes. China and the United States provided diplomatic assistance during this process.
The Thai army described Cambodia's actions as a "provocation and contrary to the terms of the agreement." It also announced that the issue of releasing 18 Cambodian soldiers detained in Thailand since July might be reconsidered.
So far, the Cambodian side has not officially responded to these accusations. Although China and the United States have welcomed the peace agreement, the risk of conflict along the border area remains.
It is noted that the disputes between Thailand and Cambodia have a long history.
