Denis Kapustin's death was staged, his life was saved

On January 2, the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense released a video recording stating that Denis Kapustin's death was staged. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Denis Kapustin was known as one of the leaders of the "Russian Volunteer Corps" (RDK) in Russia. According to GUR, this operation was carried out to save Kapustin's life and to identify agents of the Russian special services.
During the operation, special video recordings were prepared using drones. The first drone struck the minibus in which Kapustin was, and the second recorded the aftermath of the fire.
These videos were sent to the clients of the Russian special services. According to GUR information, the Russian side had offered a reward of half a million dollars for Kapustin's elimination.
Earlier, on December 27, the RDK Telegram channel reported that Kapustin had died in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region as a result of a drone attack. However, on January 1, GUR announced that his death was staged and that Kapustin's life was saved as a result of a special operation.
Following GUR's statement, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs reissued a search for Kapustin. According to the RDK Telegram channel, information about this appeared on the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs website.
Denis Kapustin was born in Moscow and later moved to Germany with his parents. He lived in Cologne and was known among football fans.
He also created the "White Rex" sportswear brand, which featured symbols referring to Nazi imagery. In 2019, the German government revoked his residence permit in the country and banned his entry into the Schengen area.
After Russia launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine, Kapustin moved to Ukraine and in 2022 established the "Russian Volunteer Corps." He emphasized that the corps consisted of ethnic Russians aiming to restore territorial integrity in Ukraine and to fight against the Russian regime.
