Patent issuance to indebted migrants in Russia may be restricted

New restrictions are being proposed in Russia regarding obtaining or extending work patents for migrants. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In particular, the issue of refusing to grant or extend patents to individuals with debts confirmed by a court decision has been raised. This was reported by kursiv.uz.
According to Yaroslav Nilov, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy, and Veterans Affairs, this measure is being considered as an additional incentive to enforce debt collection. Nilov emphasized that if there is a court decision and the debtor does not pay the specified debt, this situation may serve as grounds for refusing to issue a patent.
According to the proposed bill, migrants will be required to fully settle all debts confirmed by a court decision before extending their work patents. This initiative is planned to be submitted to the parliament after the New Year holidays.
These changes aim to increase financial discipline among migrants and reduce indebtedness.
