The US and Greenland issue could divide NATO

According to Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, if the US attempts to establish control over Greenland, it could cause serious problems within NATO and jeopardize the alliance's unity. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
She emphasized that this issue should be discussed seriously, not as a joke. Frederiksen's statement came after US President Donald Trump's ideas about transferring Greenland, a strategically important territory, under Washington's control.
Denmark and Greenland have expressed concern over these statements. Greenland is a semi-autonomous territory under the Kingdom of Denmark and also falls within NATO's responsibility.
According to Frederiksen, if the US takes military actions against another NATO member state, it would pose a direct threat to NATO's future and harm Europe's security system. It was also noted that following recent military actions in Venezuela, concerns have arisen in Denmark and Greenland about "who is next?"
Trump views Greenland as an important territory for US national security and highlighted the increasing activity of Russia and China in the Arctic. Additionally, his criticism of Denmark's security measures in Greenland has also sparked discussions.
This issue brings the topics of NATO unity, European security, and sovereignty back onto the agenda. The main question now is whether the parties will resolve this matter peacefully through negotiations or if geopolitical tensions will escalate further?
