Greenland's population does not want to join the United States

The people of Greenland do not support the idea of joining the United States. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the results of a survey conducted by Verian and published by the Financial Times, 85 percent of the island's population expressed that they do not want to obtain American citizenship. This information was also announced by the site kursiv.uz.
Participants in the survey cited several reasons for their views. In their opinion, the standard of living is higher in Denmark, and concerns arise due to the crime rate in the United States and the high cost of medical services.
Only a small portion of those surveyed expressed a positive attitude toward the idea of obtaining American citizenship. The Financial Times article also mentioned that, theoretically, Washington could attract Greenlanders by offering them American passports and one million dollars each.
At the same time, the topic of the United States "buying" Greenland is back on the agenda. Former US President Donald Trump emphasized his intention to achieve his goals and spoke about Greenlanders' interest in closer ties with America.
However, the survey results show that the majority of the population opposes such changes.
