Negotiations between Ukraine, Russia, and the USA have begun in Abu Dhabi

The first phase of the trilateral negotiations held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, within the framework of the US plan aimed at stopping the war in Ukraine, has concluded. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Representatives of Ukraine, Russia, and the US participated in the negotiations. The Ukrainian presidential administration announced on the evening of January 23 that the talks had ended.
According to Rustem Umerov, who participated as the chief negotiator from Ukraine, the main focus during the meeting was on important issues that could potentially stop the war. Additionally, the procedure for the next phases of the negotiations was also discussed.
It was reported that additional meetings are scheduled for January 24. These trilateral negotiations are noted as the first direct dialogue within the framework of the US peace initiative since Russia launched large-scale military operations against Ukraine.
At the same time, on the eve of the negotiations, Russia reiterated its demands. Moscow emphasized that Ukrainian forces must withdraw from the Donbass region, including parts that were previously not under Russian control.
The Ukrainian side sharply rejected this demand. Now the main issue is whether the meetings on January 24 will bring the parties closer to a compromise or whether each side will remain firmly in its position.
Undoubtedly, every round of negotiations in Abu Dhabi holds significant importance not only for the region but also for the entire world.
