Ferry disaster in the Philippines: 15 people died

The passenger ferry "Trisha Kerstin 3" sank in southern Philippines, resulting in at least 15 deaths. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to China's Xinhua agency, the incident occurred on January 26 at 01:50 local time near Baluk Island in Basilan province. During search and rescue operations, 317 passengers were saved, and efforts to locate the missing continue.
According to preliminary information from the Coast Guard, the ferry disaster may have been caused by technical malfunctions. An investigation into the incident is underway.
Earlier, it was also reported that near the shores of Phuket, Thailand, a tourist boat collided with a fishing vessel and sank. There were 55 people on board the boat, including three citizens of Uzbekistan.
Two of them sustained minor injuries and their condition was assessed as stable. These incidents highlight the urgent need to seriously reconsider safety issues in maritime transport.
