New cases related to the Nipah virus have been reported in India. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This virus is dangerous, and so far, it has not been possible to develop a vaccine or find a definitive treatment method. For this reason, many people are concerned about whether this disease could also enter Uzbekistan.
In this regard, the Uzbekistan Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee has issued an official statement. According to the Committee, no cases related to the Nipah virus have been detected in our country to date.
The epidemiological situation is under strict control. Nevertheless, specialists emphasize the necessity of maintaining caution.
The Nipah virus belongs to the category of zoonotic diseases, meaning it can be transmitted from animals to humans. The main carriers are fruit-eating bats.
The virus can be transmitted through contaminated food, fruits, or water, and in some cases, it can also spread from person to person. The disease is severe and may lead to serious complications such as encephalitis and respiratory tract damage.
In recent years, cases related to the Nipah virus have been observed in India and some countries in Southeast Asia. Therefore, it is very important to follow precautionary measures when traveling to these regions.
The Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee has provided several recommendations for citizens planning to travel to India. These include regularly washing hands, using antiseptic agents, thoroughly cleaning fruits and vegetables, and avoiding consumption of unverified water.
Additionally, it is necessary to completely avoid fruits damaged or bitten by bats. If symptoms such as high fever, headache, or general weakness appear during or after the trip, it is advised to consult a doctor immediately.
According to specialists, early detection of the disease is crucial to prevent serious complications.
